MANILA, Philippines - Spiral pole dancer from Antipolo City, Rizal was named grand winner of ABS-CBN’s reality talent search “Pilipinas Got Talent” (PGT) Season 6 on Sunday, April 29 at the Bren Z Guiao Convention Center in San Fernando, Pampanga.
Single mom Kristel de Catalina captured the hearts of viewers and the judges, garnering an average of 99.67 percent of combined votes.
Kristel received a vacation package and P 2 million cash prize.
For her grand finals performance, Kristel performed a leveled-up spiral pole dance routine to Celine Dion's "All By Myself."
Kristel dedicated her performance to all single mothers who found inspiration in her story of strength.
"Gusto kong maraming tao ang ma-inspire at makita nila na ang isang strong-willed and modern Filipina ay kayang tumayo sa sariling paa," she said.
Judges were astonished on Kristel's smooth executions.
"Yung mga ginagawa mo delikado pero di ako ninerbiyos dahil alam ko na napakagaling mo," Robin Padilla said.
"You made me so proud. Para akong grumaduate ng summa cum laude dahil napaka-husay mo," Vice Ganda has commented.
Kristel caught the attention of both the judges and viewers as early as the auditions, when she received the "Golden Buzzer" from Vice Ganda.
Kristel bested comedian Joven Olvido and wheelchair dancers Julius Obrero & Rhea Marquez, who were also crowd favorites.
