MANILA, Philippines - Comedian Joven Olvido made it through the grand finals of ABS-CBN’s world class talent search “Pilipinas Got Talent” (PGT) in the semi-final round elimination on Sunday, April 15.
Olvido, with his semi-finals video going viral and now having 3.8 million views on YouTube, topped the combined text and online votes with 55.71%, giving him the seventh grand finalist slot.
Angel Locsin's Golden Buzzer act, Julius Obrero & Rhea Marquez, meanwhile, won the judges votes over yo-yo master Miggy Hizon.
Locsin, who was impressed on Miggy's performance, sticked and voted for her Golden Buzzer act. Judge Robin Padilla also praised Miggy but chose the duo from Pasig City. Vice Ganda, on the other hand, picked Miggy as he did not want the lad to go home with no vote.
Joven Olvido and Julius Obrero & Rhea Marquez now join other grand finalists namely the Nocturnal Dance Company, Orville Tonido, Kristel De Catalina, Xtreme Dancers, Bardilleranz and DWC Aeon.
The grand finals of PGT dubbed as "Greatest Showdown" is set on April 28 at a Convention Center in San Fernando, Pampanga.
