MANILA, Philippines - A customer of a computer service center inside a mall in Quezon City was stabbed to death by the store manager after a heated argument on Thursday night, April 5.
Authorities identified the victim to be Geroldo Ramon Querijero. The 56-year old victim tried to claim the laptop he left for repair at the center service of SM North EDSA 5th floor around 5:30 p.m. but failed to present a claim stub. The store manager, identified to be Leo Laab, allegedly insisted seeing the stub before releasing the laptop.
Querijero left the store but decided to come back after few minutes. This time, a heated argument between them ensued.
Initial investigation of Masambong Police Station said Laab punched the victim first. Querijero fought back by throwing him a bottle of water.
The store manager then pulled out a bladed weapon and stabbed Lopez to death.
The security guards of the mall brought the victim to Sioson Hospital but was pronounced dead at 6:09 p.m.
Laab was able to escape and the authorities are still trying to hunt him down.
The mall is yet to issue an official statement over the incident.
