At least 7 dead after plane crashes in Plaridel, Bulacan

MANILA, Philippines — Seven people died after a 6-seater light plane crashed in Plaridel, Bulacan shortly after takeoff on Saturday morning, March 17.

Six people on board – which includes 4 passengers, a pilot and co-pilot – and one from the house in the crash site were killed, the Plaridel police told GMA News.




CAAP spokesperson Eric Apolonio confirmed that the Piper PA-23 Apache aircraft, with registry number RP C299, operated by Lite Air Express bound for Laoag, Ilocos Norte crashed upon takeoff from Plaridel Airport at 11:21 a.m.

“CAAP’s accident investigators and a team from Flight Safety and Inspectorate Service (FSIS) was immediately dispatched to the crash site,” CAAP said.

All aircraft operated by Lite Air Express are now grounded pending the result of the investigation.
