Reports said that protest actions by the transport group Piston and the No to Jeepney Phaseout Coalition will start at 7 a.m.
It aims to call the attention of President Rodrigo Duterte to allow rehabilitation of jeepney units rather than phase them out.
On February 27 this year, the group staged nationwide protest which caused Metro Manila-wide cancellations of classes for elementary and secondary levels.
The Department of Transportation (DOTr) is behind the proposed modernization program of the public transport system.
