MANILA, Philippines - Filipina model Maureen Wroblewitz emerged victorious as she was crowned Asia's Next Top Model 5 grand winner on Wednesday, June 28.
The eighteen-year-old half-German edged out fellow Pinays Jennica Sanchez, 20, and Angelica Santillan, 22, in the modeling competition. Wroblewitz became the first Filipina to win the popular regional show.
Wroblewitz has beaten finalists Shikin Gomez (Malaysia) and Minh Tu Nguyen (Vietnam).
"You delivered that quiet confidence, which showed that you have been soaking up everything we've been telling you, that you've been taking everything in and just completely laid it all out for us. And I am so, so happy to see that," Cindy Bishop, one of the judges of AsNTM, told Wroblewitz during the final shoot hours earlier.
The latest Philippine pride took home the coveted contract with London-based Storm Model Management and got the chance to be on the cover of Nylon Singapore and other high-profile magazines.
