MANILA, Philippines - (Updated June 20) The 'April 2017 NAPOLCOM exam results' together with the list of passers and top 20 for the Philippine National Police (PNP) entrance and promotional examinations were fully released online on July 24, 2017.
The National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM) administered the police exams to a total of 44,098 takers on Sunday, April 23, 2017 in at least 19 testing centers nationwide.
NAPOLCOM Vice-Chairman and Executive Officer Atty. Rogelio T. Casurao announced that a total of 2,026 or 7.63% out of the 26,561 examinees passed the PNP Entrance exam.

Vice-Chairman Casurao added that out of the 6,634 who took the PO Exam, 2,440 (36.78%) passed while 2,648 (33.87%) out of the 7,819 examinees hurdled the SPO Exam.
NOTE: The results of the Police Inspector and Police Superintendent exam categories shall be released soon.
“The immediate release of the results of police exams is in consonance with the Commission’s commitment with the PNP and the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) to make the examination results in synch with the police recruitment process,” Casurao said.
According to Casurao, the overall passing percentage rate of 7.63% in the PNP entrance examination is significantly lower compared to last October 16, 2016 exam passing percentage of 11.57%.
“The low passing rate in the entrance exam may be attributed to the Commission’s continuous upgrading of standards on its police examinations in line with its sustained effort to professionalize the PNP by ensuring that only the best and most qualified individuals are admitted in the police service,” Casurao said.
The NAPOLCOM exam covered the qualifying examination for Police Officer I and the promotional examinations for Police Officers 2 and 3; Senior Police Officer (for SPO1 to SPO4); Police Inspector (for Inspector and Senior Inspector); and Police Superintendent (for Chief Inspector and Superintendent).

COVERAGE OF EXAMINATION
The three-hour examination for PNP entrance exam consists of objective-type and multiple choice items on general information, verbal reasoning, quantitative reasoning and logical reasoning.
The promotional examinations, also in 3 hours, include general information, police administration and operations, and police customs and tradition/values and ethical standards.
NOTIFICATION/RELEASE OF RESULTS
The expected release of March 2017 NAPOLCOM exam results is after 2-3 months or anytime in June to July 2017.

In April 2016 exams, results were released in exactly 2 months after the test. A total of 2,705 out of 23,175 (11.67%) takers successfully passed the PNP entrance examination.
In the October 2016 exam, results for PNP Entrance, Police Officer (PO) and Senior Police Officer (SPO) were released immediately, after two months. A total of 2,946 or 11.57% out of the 25,462 examinees passed the PNP Entrance Exam. A total of 1,220 out of 6,567 (18.58%) passed PO exam while 1,267 out of 7,345 (17.25%) examinees hurdled the SPO Exam. The results for Police Inspector and Police Superintendent exam were announced after a week.

AVAILABILITY OF RESULTS
Atty. Casurao said that the list of successful examinees will be posted at the NAPOLCOM central office located at the DILG-NAPOLCOM Center, NAPOLCOM Bldg., Edsa Corner Quezon Avenue, West Triangle, Quezon City, and can be viewed at the NAPOLCOM website at www.napolcom.gov.ph.
Individual reports of rating will be mailed to all examinees. Verification of test results will be entertained at the NAPOLCOM central office and its regional offices nationwide in July 2017.

The PNP ENTRANCE EXAMINATION is open to all Filipino citizens who meet the age, height and educational requirements as provided in the PNP Examination announcement and for Police Officers I (PO1) whose appointments are temporary for lack of appropriate eligibility.
The PROMOTIONAL EXAMINATIONS are open exclusively to all qualified uniformed members of the PNP who meet the minimum qualification standards of examination in terms of rank and eligibility as provided herein. Those who pass the promotional examinations shall be conferred eligibilities appropriate for promotion to the ranks corresponding to the examination's Eligibility Rank Coverage (ERC).
