The full list of winners for the 89th Academy Awards or "Oscars," Hollywood's biggest and glamorous event, has been announced on Sunday, February 26 (Monday in Manila time) at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.
The musical romantic comedy-drama film "La La Land" led the wins with six awards, including Best Director and Best Actress for Emma Stone. The film which also stars Ryan Gosling garnered 14 nods, matching the all-time record set by Titanic and All About Eve.
'Steve Harvey moment' in Oscars 2017
"La La Land" was announced Best Picture by mistake, another Steve Harvey moment! After the realization, "Moonlight" was declared winner beating other films - Arrival, Fences, Hacksaw Ridge, Hell or High Water, Hidden Figures, La La Land, Lion and Manchester by the Sea.
The whole "La La Land" team already went on stage to accept the Best Picture Oscar before it was revealed in super-awkward fashion that Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway just pulled a Steve Harvey. It was insisted, over and over, that it was not a joke, and they even held up the card with "Moonlight" on it as proof.
The technical honors were given annually by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) to recognize excellence in cinematic achievements in the United States film industry as assessed by the Academy's voting membership.
