MANILA, Philippines - It's a 4-peat! The National University (NU) Pep Squad was crowned champion in the 2016 UAAP Cheerdance Competition (CDC) held on Saturday, November 19, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

NU Pep Squad clinched the top spot after totaling 711 points. It was the second four-peat in the history of CDC. Only the UST Salinggawi Dance Troupe was able to accomplish the feat from 2002 to 2006.

Coming in second was the Far Eastern University (FEU) Cheering Squad who had 658.5 points, while the Adamson University (AdU) Pep Squad came in third place after garnering 655 points.

NU pocketed P340,000 cash prize while FEU and Adamson got P200,000 and P140,000, respectively.
The University of Santo Tomas (UST) Salinggawi Dance Troupe placed fourth, while the UE Pep Squad was fifth.
The DLSU Animo squad and Ateneo Blue Babble Battalion came in 6th and 7th place, respectively.
In the Group Stunts competition, NU also came in first place while UST and FEU placed second and third, respectively.
