MANILA, Philippines - Super typhoon Lawin has maintained its strength as it continues to threaten Cagayan-Isabela area, state weather bureau PAGASA announced in its 8:00 p.m. update on Wednesday, October 19, 2016.
At 7:00 p.m. today, the eye of Super Typhoon Lawin was located based on all available data at 175 km East Northeast of Casiguran, Aurora or at 200 km East Southeast of Tuguegarao City (17.1°N, 123.5°E).
It has maximum sustained winds of up to 225 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 315 kph and forecast to move West Northwest at 25 kph.
'Lawin" is expected to make landfall over Cagayan - Isabela Area late tonight (11:00 PM) up to tomorrow early morning (Oct. 20), (2:00 AM) then will cross Apayao and Ilocos Norte.
