MANILA, Philippines - The "Cheerful Charmer of Germany" Edward Barber moved one step closer to becoming the Big winner of "Pinoy Big Brother" after outlasting his fellow teen housemates in a challenge, which earned him an automatic place in the reality show's supposed "finale."
Big Brother officially announced the results of the Big Jump challenge on Friday, October 28.
In the challenge which lasted for about six hours, Edward, along with Yong Mujahil and Christian Morones, were tasked to hurdle an electric maze with a buzzer that will alarm if the handler hits the rod and then solve the 'Lucky Sun' puzzle. This, after the twist on their weekly task and another challenge to get the third flag.
Christian was in close fight with Edward as they both finished the two markers of the maze.
As the 'Big Jump' was revealed last week, Big Brother said that only three housemates can get chance to enter the penultimate challenge. Remaining housemates Yong, Christian, Edward, Maymay Entrata and Kisses Delavin (including evicted housemate Vivoree Esclito) were asked if they want to continue the domino tower weekly task or get the flag to secure slot for the 'Big Jump challenge.' The lads took the flag while the girls continue the weekly task. Edward has changed his mind and surrendered the flag to help other housemates in the task. After the successful weekly task, housemates faced another challege to determine who will own the third flag and Edward reclaimed it.
Meanwhile, an emotional teen inquiry episode happened before the 'Big Jump Challenge'. Kisses, May-may and evicted housemates were tasked to give flag to their chosen housemate. Yong received highest number of flags, 5, while Edward and Christian got 3 and 1 flag, respectively.
Yong had an early advantage after he received the most number of flags from the other remaining teen housemates. He can give more 'FREEZE' command to other housemates while doing the task.
The last two spots in the "finale" reserved for the teen housemates will be determined through public votes. Voting mechanics will be announced on Saturday night.
UPDATE: Voting is now open. Tally of votes will be revealed next week.
Details about the Big Night have yet to be announced. It remains unclear how exactly the show will determine its grand winner.
The teen housemates are expected to exit the "PBB" house Saturday to make way for the regular housemates, who are being slowly revealed in recent days.
