MANILA, Philippines - Classes are still suspended in some areas of Luzon for tomorrow, Friday, August 19, 2016 due to heavy monsoon rains, several local government units (LGUs) announced on Thursday.
According to state weather bureau PAGASA, the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) has already weakened. However, the Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) and the provinces of Zambales and Bataan will continue to experience cloudy skies and light to moderate rains and isolated thunderstorms.

Based on automatic class suspension guideline, LGUs have the authority to declare local suspensions in areas where there is no storm signal.
