MANILA, Philippines- A Facebook post by a certain Sidemoid Franciso Datanam revealing the current state of veteran actor Dick Israel is making rounds online.
The 68-year-old character actor best known for his roles in Maging Sino Ka Man, Boy Golden, Patrolman, and Badil apparently needs financial help after a fire destroyed his house and 12 other families. According to Datanam, Israel is currently residing at 144 Evangelista Street, Bagong Barrio, Barangay 144 in Caloocan City.
Israel, whose real name is Ricardo Michaca, was last seen on ABS-CBN’s “Kung Ako'y Iiwan Mo” in 2012. In his recent photo, the villain actor seems completely unrecognizable with his white beard and much older appearance.
Aside from the actor’s current predicament, Israel suffered from a stroke in 2010 and sought financial help from his colleagues in the entertainment industry after all his savings were used for medical treatment.
In his interview with ABS-CBN News, Israel revealed that they weren’t able to save any of their belongings even his wheelchair because the fire spread rapidly.
“Mabilis kumalat ang apoy. That’s life, carry on,” Israel said.
His wife, Marilyn Mitchaca is appealing for financial aid from his celebrity friends.
"Tulungan sana siya, 'yung gamot na tine-take niya o pinansyal, o kung anong [maitutulong],” Mitchaca said.
Actress Nadia Montenegro have called for socilitations and pledges for Israel through her Instagram account.
