MANILA, Philippines - The Malacañang Palace on Tuesday has released a proclamation declaring Friday, June 24 as a special (non-working) day in the City of Manila.
Executive Secretary Paquito Ochoa Jr. by the authority of President Benigno S. Aquino III signed proclamation No. 1289 for the celebration of the 445th Foundation Day of the City of Manila or "Araw ng Maynila."
"It is but fitting and proper that the people of the City of Manila be given full opportunity to celebrate and participate in the occasion with appropriate ceremonies," the public advisory stated.
Manila being the capital city of the Philippines is the second densest city in the world in 2013.
