A certain Leinad Angeles uncovered the new modus on his Facebook account including the jeepney plate number and its driver. Angeles stated that the public vehicle plying from FTI Taguig to Mall of Asia is being used by holduppers to rob passengers at dawn.

Angeles wrote that the driver out of nowhere stops in an area where the felons await and allow them to board the jeepney and do the crime. The driver doesn’t even bother to make any move to protect his passengers by speeding up and getting the vehicle to a lighted and crowded place. Instead, he keeps his jeep still until the robbers get all the valuables from the passengers.

Different reactions came up from online community. Some doubt the veracity of the story while majority got mad and even called out the incoming president Rody Duterte and his pre-appointed PNP Chief Bato Dela Rosa to apprehend and punish the culprits so that commuters will be safeguarded especially those who are going to their work places at that specific time.

Just a friendly reminder from The Summit Express, while on board of any public vehicles, avoid flashing your mobile phones or any gadgets that might get the attention and interest of holduppers and snatchers. Also, always be on alert and never sleep while traveling. Lastly, if holdup unfortunately happens, don’t try to fight back because more likely, the suspects are armed and ready to harm anyone at any given time.
