MANILA, Philippines - A brand new day for the country's largest telecommunications and digital services company PLDT-Smart has finally come.
In the facade of PLDT Headquarter in Makati City, PLDT and Smart logos were unveiled on Monday, June 13, 2016.
Smart, the wireless arm of PLDT has gone a major transformation, from blue to green and now has identical logo with its parent company.
"PLDT-Smart's story is also the story of our people. Borderless. Immersed in change. Empowered like never before,"PLDT Chairman Manuel V. Pangilinan shared on Twitter.
On Monday morning, MVP tweeted that "embracing digital makes sense specially in an emerging economy. The telco is central to digital transformation of society."
PLDT-Smart new logo explained
The new logo symbolizes the powerful convergence of PLDT and Smart, combining fixed and wireless technologies to serve individual and enterprise customers.
The logos are shaped like a triangle with the three sides representing company’s business pillars — exceptional people, meaningful innovations and its valuable customers.
The triangle also the symbol for Delta, the fourth letter on the Greek alphabet, which stands for “Change.”
PLDT’s logo is their fifth logo since the 1940s, while Smart is their sixth since 1993.
