MANILA, Philippines - Dance group Mastermind and Sto. Tomas Bulilit Generation advanced to the grand finals of Pilipinas Got Talent (PGT) Season 5 as announced during the results night at Resorts World Manila on Sunday, April 17, 2016.
The 9-member group from Borongan, Eastern Samar who charmed the viewers on their simple but dazzling choreography, got the highest percentage of votes, 57.56%, automatically sending them to the grand finals.
Sto. Tomas Bulilit Generation, on the other hand, earned a spot in the finals after getting the unanimous vote of all four judges.
Judges Freddie Garcia, Angel Locsin, Vice Ganda and Robin Padilla had to select between Sto. Tomas Bulilit Generation and Deniel Sarmiento, which finished in second and third in the viewers' vote.
Mastermind, Sto. Tomas Bulilit Generation bested other semi-finalists dancers Angel Fire and Deniel Sarmiento and singers Derf Cabael and Lezboys.
