MANILA, Philippines- Filipino boxing icon and Senatorial candidate Manny Pacquiao’s drew flak from several celebrities as well as netizens after making a controversial remark regarding same-sex marriage.
In his interview with Bilang Pilipino, the data-driven election coverage by several news outlets, Congressman Pacquiao expressed his disapproval on the issue of same-sex unions.
He said: “Ginawa ang babae para sa lalaki, ginawa ang lalaki para sa babae.”
(The woman was created for a man, the man was made for a woman.)
Marunong kumikilala, kung lalaki o lalaki, babae babae,” he added.
(It’s just common sense. Will you see animals where male is to male and female is to female? Animals are better. They can distinguish male or female.)
(If we allow male to male, female to female, then humans are worse than animals.)

The LGBT is a group of people. We are humans. But not animals. Though we're no saints we will pray for Manny Pacquiao.— jose marie viceral (@vicegandako) February 16, 2016
