MANILA, Philippines - American actor Jamie Foxx mocked Steve Harvey’s Miss Universe gaffe at the 2016 Golden Globes happened on Sunday, January 10 (Monday on Philippine Time), announcing the wrong winner for Best Original Score for a Motion Picture.
The Sleepless Night actor together with Lily James presented the winner for the category. Without reading from the envelope, Foxx announced the "winner" - Straight Outta Compton. The audience was surprised as the film wasn't even nominated.
"“And the winner is … Straight Outta Compton. But immediately he said: “I’m sorry folks, I made a mistake. It’s right here on the card. I take full responsibility. It was right here on the card. I apologize to everyone in Compton. I apologize to Ice Cube.”
James, then took over to announce the real winner in the category: Ennio Morricone, for The Hateful Eight.
In December 21, Harvey became controversial after the announcement fiasco at the 2015 Miss Universe competition — Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutierrez, over the actual victor, Filipina Pia Wurtzbach.
