MANILA, Philippines - Some government units (LGUs) and schools announced class suspensions for Monday, October 19, 2015 due to the effects of Typhoon Lando which gives tremendous rains and strong winds in Metro Manila and Luzon regions.
As early as Sunday morning, October 18, bulletin for class cancellation was released through social media.

It is reminded that the local government unit (LGU) has the authority to declare local suspensions in areas where there is no storm signal.
Meanwhile, here's the automatic suspension guidelines based on Executive Order No. 66, series of 2012.
Based on PAGASA latest bulletin as of 11:00 am Sunday, Storm Signal has been raised on the following areas as Typhoon Lando moves over Nueva Ecija and is about to threaten the Cordillera Region.
Public Storm Warning Signal 3: Aurora, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Nueva Ecija, Benguet, Ifugao, Mountain Province, Kalinga, La Union and Pangasinan.
Public Storm Warning Signal 2: Cagayan including Calayan and Babuyan group of Islands, Isabela, Abra, Apayao, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, Zambales, Bataan, Tarlac, Pampanga, Bulacan, Rizal, Northern Quezon including Polillo Islands and Metro Manila.
Public Storm Warning Signal 1: Batanes, Cavite, Laguna, Batangas and rest of Quezon.
