MANILA, Philippines - ABS-CBN News on Saturday issued its apologies to the students of University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB) for the alleged unethical journalism of the network about the forum of UPLB students with Vice President Jejomar Binay last September 15.
Early Saturday, UPLB posted on its social media accounts an open letter to ABS-CBN News. The hashtag #ABSCBNSaySorryToUPLB trended on microblogging site Twitter in the afternoon which caught attention of netizens and ABS-CBN.

"In our effort to provide a more comprehensive coverage of the forum, one of our writers mistook the word "sample" for "trapo. We immediately corrected this right after we were alerted about the mistake on September 16, 2015," ABS-CBN said in a statement.
"We will be taking disciplinary steps against those responsible for this oversight," the network added.
After receiving the apology online, the University Student Council of UPLB reminded ABS-CBN to practice ethical and responsible journalism in all its media operations.
