MANILA, Philippines - Another Filipino triathlon athlete bagged gold medal in the 2015 Southeast Asian (SEA) Games in Singapore on Sunday, June 7.
Men's triathlon bet of the Philippines Nikko Huelgas won the event as he finished with a top time of 2:04:32, over a minute ahead of his competition.
Placing second in the triathlon competition was Rikigoro Shinozuka of Malaysia while Singapore’s Loo Chuan Rong took the bronze medal.
Interaksyon reported that Huelgas held strong in the bike race before overtaking the lead in the run all the way for a golden finish.
On Saturday, Philippines won its first gold through triathlete Claire Adorna who crossed the finished line in 2:13:08 time.
In the latest standings, Philippines improved to 2 golds, 6 silvers and 8 bronzes.
