MANILA, Philippines - Burglars hit the house of of detained Sen. Jinggoy Estrada in Quezon City with at least one arrested on Saturday morning, vaious reports said.
According to police officials, two robbers broke into Estrada's home in Corinthian Hills before 3 a.m.
Report from ABS-CBN News said that thieves went straight to the second floor and managed to eat, smoke, and even defecate on the balcony of the Jinggoy's home.
The arrested suspect was beaten up after security guards caught up with him while trying to escape, DZMM's Dennis Datu reported.
Some jewelries were recovered from him while objects from other suspect is not yet identified.
Police officials confirmed that robbers have worked before on the house of the senator.
Estrada is currently at the Philippine National Police Custodial Center in Camp Crame along with Sen. Ramon Bong Revilla Jr. They face charges after being linked to a multibillion-peso pork barrel fund mess allegedly masterminded by trader Janet Napoles.
