For the third time in a year, the Pilipinas Aguilas National Tackle Football Team will once again fight for Honor, Pride and Flag against the youthful Korea Tigers today, February 28, 2015 at Emperador Stadium, McKinly Hill in Taguig City.
Local American Football League – Arena Ball Philippines (ABP) has successfully concluded its 5th Season last February 7 with the undefeated Wolves snatched the crown from fomer 4-time champions, Team Bandits. Exactly a week after the closing ceremony, the American Tackle Football Association headed by Chairman Apollo Anco, ABP President Bernardo “Dodi” Palma re-assembled the National Team to test the younger Korea Tigers.
Ranked 24th by the International American Football Association (IFAF), the Pilipinas Aguilas had its first International-Sanctioned game against the World’s number 2, Team Japan in in their home turf for the IFAF Senior World Championship to be held in Stockholm Sweden, walloped the inexperienced Aguilas 86-0. 4 months after the heavy beating from the Japanese, the Aguilas hosted a friendly game against the Western Australia Raiders but got humiliated in front of the home crowd 56-7.
The Tigers have landed.
On the eve of February 26, the Korea Tigers landed at Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3. The Tigers, guided by Canadian Head Coach Lawrence Bowlby and comprised by youthful students from Korea University is just one of Major American Football Clubs in South Korea has a great winning and championship tradition in Korea American Football Association which inaugurated in 1962.
