Manila, Philippines – FHM featured model China Roces denied allegations that she is the girl in the Paolo Bediones scandal which went viral online recently.
In a series of Facebook posts, she insisted the public to verify her involvement in the controversial video.
"Hindi po ako ang nasa scandal okey?? Tingnan ng mabuti at alamin po," 22-year old Roces said.
On Monday morning, July 28, she was interviewed by the controversial disc jockey Mo Twister on his radio program 'Good Times with Mo' to talk about the issue.
"Is @chinaroces the girl in the Paolo Bediones tape? She’ll be on-air after this commercial break to talk about it!," Mo's teaser tweet stated.
"89.9 radio interview 7:00am by Dj Mo twister..para magising yung iba sa katotohanan na "That's Not Me!!", Roces added.
On Sunday afternoon, her name was tagged in the scandalous video with some bloggers and netizens reported that she's the one, noting the similarity of her with the girl in the said video.
China Roces which lives in Makati City has name based on a popular street in the commercial business district.
She said that “Originally, I was supposed to be a part of a girl group called Street Beauties. Yung mga names namin are based on the famous streets around the metro, like Timmy Morato, Aurora Boulevar, and China Roces.”
She has modeled for some companies including Tanduay, Burker King, and FilAsia.
"We were supposed to make a movie bearing the same title, but sadly, it never pushed through. But since catchy nga yung name ko, it stuck with me," Roces added.
Several photos from her Facebook profile appear to show her with 40-year-old Bediones, a personality of television network TV5. As of press time, some of the photos were already deleted.
TV5 on Sunday has released statement to support Bediones amidst the scandal he's facing.
"The recent issue involving our news anchor, Paolo Bediones, on social media is a purely personal and private matter in which TV5 has no involvement or desire to intrude," TV5 said in a brief statement.
