Manila, Philippines - A student of Ateneo de Naga University was arrested for heckling President Benigno 'PNoy' Aquino III during the celebration of Independence Day in Naga City.
The 19-year-old and 4th year psychology student Em Mijares was immediately arrested for public disturbance.
Mijares said he is disappointed with his arrest considering he was only exercising his right to freedom of expression on Independence Day.
"Basic right natin bilang mamamayan na makapagpahayag ng sentimiento, hindi lang ako kundi lahat ng mamamayan under-represented," he said.

Aquino was not able to escape from the protesters as anti-pork barrel groups have criticized the administration during his stay in Bicol Province.
