Manila, Philippines - In celebration of 10 years of being the first and true home of Asianovelas, ABS-CBN is set to air the popular Asian drama 'The Heirs' starring Lee Min-ho and Park Shin-hye on Monday, May 26, 2014.
As the Kapamilya network released the first teaser on Sunday, 'The Heirs' became a trending topic on microblogging site Twitter. Netizens were just excited for the comeback of the new King of Asian Drama, Lee Minho and the airing of most talked-about Korean drama of 2013.
'The Heirs' with international name of 'The Inheritors' is a is a South Korean television series aired on SBS from October 9 to December 12, 2013 and has 20 episodes.
The series follows a group of rich, privileged, and elite high school students as they are groomed to take over their families' business empires. These wealthy students seem to have everything under control, except their love lives.
Kim Tan (Lee Min-ho) is a handsome and wealthy heir to a large Korean conglomerate who is sent to study abroad in the U.S. While in the States, Kim Tan bumps into Cha Eun-sang (Park Shin-hye), who has arrived from Korea in search of her older sister who claims that she is in need of money for her wedding. Slowly, they find falling in love with each other. Troubles arise as the heirs realize the differences between money and the real world.
ABS-CBN got the rights to air 'The Heirs' before the drama's premiere in Korea. ABS-CBN Manager, Ms. Rachel Simon confirmed the successful acquisition. According to Asian Drama Philippines Facebook post, GMA-7 also have bid for the star-studded SBS drama.
'The Heirs' is expected to replace the timeslot of the trending Taiwanese drama 'Meteor Garden'.
