The Philippine Dental Association (PDA) formally opened today, February 2, 2014 the 10th National Dental Health Month in a ceremony held at the Music Hall, SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City. This year's month-long celebration has a theme “Ngiping Pinagtibay, Ngiting Walang Humpay, Para sa Kinabukasa’y Maginhawang Tunay.”
The opening ceremony includes the following activities: free dental consultation and check-up, dental fair, motorcade, street dancing and school cheer dance competition.
President Benigno S. Aquino III gave his message and greetings to PDA for the celebration of 10th National Dental Health Month.
"Improving the health of every Filipino is one of our government’s major tasks in this era of revitalization; this forms part of our agenda of citizen empowerment, which redounds to an even more productive, equitably progressive Philippines.", Aquino said.
"The healthcare sector is ever-evolving, and it is essential that those who comprise this sphere never cease to blaze new trails and innovate. Take advantage of this globalized milieu, as together, we propel our country towards lasting, meaningful transformation.", Aquino emphasized.
"Join Philippine Dental Association and celebrate with us a month full of smiles as we promote good oral health for every filipino! When was the last time you visited your dentist.. Maybe it's time to have those pearly whites checked!", the Official Facebook page of PDA stated.
For about two weeks, nationwide kick-off will be held which includes series of events.
Among the highlights of the month-long celebration are the on the spot poster making contest to be held on February 19, 2014 at Midtown Atrium Robinson's Place Manila and PDA Family Olympics on the 23rd at University of Makati Track Oval.
The closing ceremony of the 10th Dental Month will be held on February 28, 2014 at the Movie Stars Cafe, SM Mall of Asia.
