Manila, Philippines - Deniece Cornejo on Monday, January 27 broke her silence about the mauling and alleged rape incident happened last January 22 at Fort Bonifacio in Taguig.
The exclusive interview of ABS-CBN correspondent Jay Ruiz with Cornejo was aired on TV Patrol.
The 22-year old model claimed that she is the victim in the incident and not the comedian Vhong Navarro. She said that they are ready to file charges against Navarro for the attempted rape.

According to her, she broke her silence to defend her reputation against the statement of Vhong.
Since the news came out involving her name in the case, her name became a hot topic on various social media sites. For two days, her name is still in the trending list of Twitter Philippines and draws negative comments from netizens.

“Isa lang po masasabi ko. If you want justice, I’ll give you the real justice. Mataas, napakataas ng paghanga ko sa mga lalaki na marunong rumespeto at ipagtanggol ang mga kababaihan. Kung meron mang inosente at biktima rito, wala nang iba kung hindi ako."
“Vhong, hindi ko kailangang umiyak, ipakita na awang awa ako [sa sarili ko]. Sa lahat ng mga naniniwala at sumusuporta sa tao, lalo na sa ’yo – at wala akong kalaban-laban dahil alam kong marami kang napasayang tao – magaling kang artista, idolo kita. Pero sa mata ng prinsipyo, ang mali ay mananatiling mali at hinding hindi mananalo ang kasamaan sa kabutihan.”
"Uulitin ko. As much as possible, gusto kong maging pribado buhay ko at ayokong lumaki nang ganito. Hindi ko ito pinili, pinili niya ito. Pero kung ang pangalan ko ang nakasalalay dito at reputasyon ko, ibang usapan na ‘yun."
“I’ve consulted my lawyer. Pero for now, medyo nato-trauma ako sa mga ganyang ugali at saka pangyayari."
Before the end of interview, Deniece clarified that Vhong is not courting her and admitted that she is related to a top executive in another network.
“Lolo ko po ‘yung isa sa mga matataas na posisyon sa kabilang network,” Deniece said.
