The Department of Education (DeEd) announced today that the Swiss Government is offering a scholarship grant to Filipinos taking up a doctorate degree or medical doctors who wish to undertake specialization in selected Swiss universities for School Year 2014-2015.
Education Secretary Armin Luistro received the invitation, which he disseminated to Department of Education (DepEd) personnel and to the academic community. “We welcome this offer, which is part of the continuing promotion of understanding and cooperation between our country and the Swiss Confederation,” he said.
DepEd said that the deadline for application for scholarship for Academic Year 2014-2015 is on November 15, 2013.
The offer is a research scholarship for persons taking up PhD in their home country and wishing to conduct a 12-month research with a professor in a Swiss university. It is also intended for medical doctors undertaking specialization. Also up for grabs is a PhD for students wishing to go through a PhD program in one of the Swiss universities for a maximum of three years.
There is also a grant for post-doctoral scholarship for researchers holding a PhD who wish to conduct a post-doctoral research in one of the Swiss universities for 12 months.
Application forms can be obtained at the Swiss Embassy, 24th Floor, Equitable Bank Tower, 8751 Paseo de Roxas, Makati City.
