Manila, Philippines - Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) announced via Twitter that Number Coding in Metro Manila is lifted on Monday, May 13, 2013 in line with election day. Suspension includes areas of Makati and Las Piñas.
The number coding schemes, states that vehicles are barred from passing through major thoroughfares from 7 A.M. to 7 P.M., to ease the traffic congestion in the metropolis.
Suspended number coding on Monday will allow plate number ending in 1 and 2 to go out during election day without fear of getting flagged down.
Covered by the scheme on Tuesdays are vehicles with plate numbers ending in 3 and 4; 5 and 6 on Wednesdays; 7 and 8 on Thursdays; and 9 and 0 on Fridays.
