Searching for a job? Here's the good news, Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) listed at least 75 job fairs and services caravan all over the Philippines in celebration of Labor Day this May 1, 2013.
400,000 local and overseas jobs are available nationwide of which 171,532 0r 43 percent job vacancies will be offered by 726 local employers and 37 licensed overseas in Metro Manila.
The job fairs highlight the celebration of the 2013 Labor Day with a theme, "Manggagawang Pilipino: Handa sa Hamon ng Makabagong Panahon".
DOLE Secretary Rosalinda Baldoz said that celebration of Labor Day is a way to give tribute to the nation’s workers, in recognition of their significant contribution to the country’s development, and to highlight their achievements as a major socioeconomic pillar of Philippine society.
Metro Manila job fairs will be held at SM Malls in North EDSA, Fairview, Novaliches, Manila, Sta. Mesa, San Lazaro, Valenzuela, Mega Mall, Pasig, Marikina, South Mall, Las Piñas, Sucat, Bicutan, Muntinlupa, and Mall of Asia.
The job vacancies are in identified key employment generator (KEG) sectors. It includes cyber services, tourism, banking and finance, hotel and restaurant, health and wellness, wholesale and retail trade, automotive and construction.
Some of the important documents on your job application are resume/biodata, copy of diploma, copy of transcript of records, clearances, employment certificates, if there is any, ID pictures, TIN, SSS, and Phil-Health identification that will be needed during pre-employment processes.
DOLE Region 2:
DOLE Region 2 is set to conduct a job fair and services caravan, which is a joint effort together with LGU-Santiago City. It is expected to be participated in by some 40 companies for local and overseas employment. The job seekers will try their luck in more than 1,200 job vacancies for local employment and at least 2,000 jobs for overseas employment.
A pre-registration is scheduled on April 29-30 at the Santiago City Hall. This is to facilitate job matching of qualified applicants with an employer and avoid congestion of job seekers at the registration area during the Job Fair.
DOLE Visayas Region:
SM Supermalls in partnership with DOLE and P.E.S.O. will be conducting Job Fair on May 1, 2013 at 10AM-5PM in SM City Cebu and Cebu Trade Hall.
DOLE Davao Region:
There are 32,393 jobs to be offered to jobseekers in this year's two-day Labor Day Job Fair in Davao Region on May 1 and 2. DOLE will hold the event at Gaisano Mall of Tagum. In Davao City, there are two venues selected for the fair, one at the Gaisano Mall of Davao while the other at the SM City Davao.
DOLE Region 6 (Iloilo):
Job vacancies are in store for jobseekers during the Labor Day Job Fair on May 1, 2013 at SM City Iloilo. About 50 local and overseas companies are expected to join the fair of around 2,000 jobs. Registration will start 8 am.
DOLE Bicol Region:
DOLE in partnership with SM Naga will be conducting job fair on May 1 with simultaneous events at Legazpi -Mega Job Fair and Fun Run.
DOLE CAR (Baguio City):
More than 9,500 job vacancies are offered in a two-day jobs fair at the Baguio Convention Center on May 1 and 2 sponsored by the City Government of Baguio through its Public Employment Service Office and in partnership with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE-CAR). May 1 jobs fair is set for local employment while May 2 is for overseas employment.
SM City Baguio in partnership with 20 of its company locators, will also be conducting a simultaneous jobs fair with 712 job vacancies to offer.
As part of the Labor Day celebration, DOLE will also conduct a Career forum for Baguio college graduates at their Regional Office here, along Cabinet Hills, on April 30 and a similar forum for the University of Cordillera Graduates on May 6 and 7.
