ABS-CBN singing reality show franchise, X-Factor Philippines on Sunday announces KZ Tandingan for the grand winner title. KZ, under Girls category wins over other two finalists- Gabriel Maturan of Boys category and Daddy's Home under Group category. KZ got 55% of votes.
Grand winner got P 4M prizes and exclusive recording contract from Star Music.
Daddy's Home was named third placer while Gab is XFP's second placer.
The two-night pilot season finale was aired October 6-7, 2012 at PAGCOR Grand Theater Paranaque location.
Performance night was set Saturday night. KZ sang Carpenter's "Superstar".Gabriel Maturan sang his version of I Believe, popularized and winning piece of Fantasia Barrino.
Results night also showcased the talents of top 12 finalists and superb performances from the judges.
X-Factor Philippines started airing June 23, 2012. Live shows started August 4, 2012.
As a franchise show, XFP is divided into Boys, Girls, Over 25s and Group categories.
Season Conclusion:
The show based on my opinion did not meet its target, to exceed expectations of what X-Factor is all about. Yes, we believe on the talent of the winner and finalist but the real X-Factor did not reflect on them. Judges also failed on their part, no evil-type or frank judge this season. We had expected Martin Nievera to be like Simon Cowell, the creator of X-Factor. We think that if the show is really successful or hit, grand finals should either in Araneta or MOA Arena since its the very first season.
Anyway, congratulations to the winner and to the show.
