MANILA, Philippines - Several local government units announced class suspensions for today, September 13, 2017 (Wednesday) due to heavy rains and strong wind brought by tropical depression "Maring."
In a bulletin issued at 11:00 p.m. on Tuesday, state weather bureau PAGASA announced that moderate to occasionally heavy rains is expected over Zambales and Bataan while light to moderate with occasionally heavy rains during thunderstorms will be experienced over Tarlac, Pampanga and Bulacan. Residents in these areas are alerted against possible landslide and flashfloods.
'Maring' has intensified into a tropical storm and now moving towards the Philippine Sea.
Signal No. 1 is up over these areas: Zambales and Bataan.
