MANILA, Philippines - (Updated August 30) The 29th Southeast Asian (SEA) Games, commonly known as Kuala Lumpur 2017 happens from August 19 to 30 in Malaysia. View on this page for the updated medal tally, official schedule, livestream video and game results.
A total of 11 countries participated in the Kuala Lumpur 2017, with the motto "Rising Together."
The opening ceremony was held in Bukit Jalil National Stadium on 19 August 2017 at 20:00 (Malaysian Time). For the Philippines, Kirstie Elaine Alora (Taekwondo) served as the flag bearer in the parade of nation.
As announced by SEA Games 2017 official website (https://www.kualalumpur2017.com.my/), a total of 18 gold medals have been decided since the competition started on August 14 and 386 more gold medals are up for grabs as athletes get into full gear over the next 12 days of competition.
The Philippines won its first gold medal for the 2017 SEA Games as Mary Joy Tabal dominated in the women's marathon competition on Saturday.
The Philippine contingent is comprised of 497 athletes and will compete in all the events except for cricket.
