MANILA, Philippines – Jhon Clyd Talili of Surigao del Sur was named first-ever grand champion of "Tawag ng Tanghalan" (TNT) Kids on It's Showtime.
During the grand finals on Saturday, June 10, Talili as among the three contenders from Mindanao, received standing ovation from hurados and garnered the highest total score of 89.90% from the judges and viewers' votes.
Talili finally achieved his dream to win the much-coveted prize. He won house and lot, negosyo package and 1 million cash prize.
Keifer Sanchez, also from Mindanao, ranked second after garnering 70.47% total points.
Other finalists who have prove their vocal prowess on Saturday were Mackie Empuerto (Metro Manila), Francis Concepcion and and Sheenna Belarmino (Visayas).
International RNB star Billy Crawford, Queen Mother Karla Estrada, Queen of Soul Jaya, Showbiz Royalty Karylle, Jed Madela, pop icon Jolina Magdangan, King of OPM themesong Erik Santos, Master Louie Ocampo, poprock superstar Yeng Constantino were among the 'Hurados' (judges) of the competition.
As “TNT Kids” has ended, another chapter of “Tawag ng Tanghalan” is set to unfold as it again looks for the best singers in the country beginning this Monday, June 12.
