MANILA, Philippines - A self-styled Nostradamus and a Dutch researcher, Frank Hoogerbeets, has warned of the strong earthquake that is possible to strike critical areas including the Philippines from February 24 to March 8, 2017 due to 12 planetary alignments in just two weeks.
Hoogerbeets claims that this phenomenon is similar to the 15 planetary alignments last December causing a seismic increase with three large 7 magnitude earthquakes.
The 'Quake mystic' who believes that "earthquakes are frequency adjustments to the ever changing vibration of the Solar System" uses computer program called Solpage to compute planetary positions, angles and alignments for a given date or time-frame, his tool for the earthquake forecasting, a non-scientifically recognized way of predicting earthquakes.
Hoogerbeets says that the positions of the planets and the moon have an impact on tectonic plate movement on Earth.
The native from Netherlands has released recently on Ditrianum YouTube channel, a Major Earthquake Warning video, emphasizing a mega-quake that is likely to occur on the first week of March, possible on the 4th and 5th.
"In the last week of February and the first week of March, there will likely be a significant increase in seismic activity with the highest probability of an 8+ magnitude earthquake around 4 March," Hoogerbeets posted on Ditrianum website.
He then named the earthquake-prone countries critical for mega-quake of over 8.0 magnitude: Philippines, Japan, Indonesia, Chile, Peru, West Coast of North America.
"If you are on the earthquake-prone area, somewhere along the fault line and sub-duction zone, make sure you have earthquake plan ready. This is not the time to be afraid but the time to be prepared," he said.
Recently, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) has been vocal on its warning on the “Big One,” a powerful earthquake that could kill thousands of residents of Metro Manila and nearby provinces.

"We cannot predict when or where an earthquake will happen. There is no reliable technology in the world that can confidently predict the date, time and location of large earthquakes. What we do is prepare earthquake scenarios of hazards and impacts to be used as guide for mitigation, preparedness and response," the government agency said.

February 24: Two planetary alignments will occur both involving Mars and Venus. Earth will be very close to these alignments as it will be within 0°38' of the Jupiter-Uranus resonance vector. The convergence of alignments on the 24th may initially cause higher 6 to 7 magnitude seismic events on the planet on the 24th and 25th.
February 25: Jupiter, Mars and Uranus will reach their alignment. Venus and Earth will be very close relative to this alignment.
February 26-27: New Moon and Solar Eclipse on the 26th may initially prevent seismic activity to go over low 7 magnitude. On the 27th, Earth itself will be involved in two alignments, first with Mars and Uranus and then with Mars and Jupiter.
March 2-7: More amplified resonances will be added by Mercury when the planet will be part of four alignments, three of which involve the Sun and one involving the Earth and Neptune on the 4th. In this time-frame the Moon reaches first quarter on the 5th growing to full on the 12th, which will add more tension to Earth’s crust.
As published in the DailyMail.co.uk, science and technology website Gizmodo notes that this isn't the first time that people have put forward the idea that a planetary alignment will cause devastating earthquakes. The 1974 book The Jupiter Effect, by John Gribbin and Stephen Plagemann, warned that a similar event would take in 1982.

"Voyager spacecraft has recorded the electromagnetic waves emitted by the celestial objects. Due to this transmission of electromagnetic waves, there's a electromagnetic connection with the Sun, Earth and other planets and the moon," Hoogerbeets said.
"When planets align, one planet may hit the resonance frequency of another planet thereby causing amplification of electromagnetic resonance," Hoogerbeets added.
"On atomic level, amplification will excite electrons which causing strong vibration. This may cause earthquake of over 6.0 magnitude."

Earthquake prediction poses greatest challenge in seismology
While mainstream scientists and geologists have rubbished his claims on planetary alignments causing earthquakes, he has proved of significant online following after his predictions happened in the past years.
In fact some of his predictions are being featured on international websites express.co.uk, Daily Mail Online and Huffington Post.
"However, one day the scientific community will have to accept the fact that the spectrum of Gravity encompasses much more than the observed physical mechanics alone," Hoogerbeets said.
"My study thus far has shown that three planets in particular are critical to our seismically active world. These are Mercury, Uranus and Mars. It is not a coincidence that at the time of the largest earthquake on record, the magnitude 9.5 earthquake in Chile, these three planets were lined up."

Oarfish sightings stoke earthquake fears
Days before and after the magnitude 6.7 earthquake that devastated Surigao City and its nearby provinces, multiple sightings of giant oarfish in Southern Philippines were reported.
Note: The Surigao quake on February 10 according to Hoogerbeets was a result of the Sun-Mercury-Saturn alignment on February 8 (part of the warning video.)
These consecutive incidents spark fears that it may be a sign of an impending large earthquake.
Oarfish is known as the “Messenger from the Sea God's Palace.” Kiyoshi Wadatsumi, a specialist in ecological seismology, told the Japan Times in 2010 that “deep-sea fish living near the sea bottom are more sensitive to the movements of active faults than those near the surface of the sea.”
Meanwhile, a large sea animal believed to be a sea cow washed up on the shore in the Dinagat Islands on Wednesday afternoon, worrying locals following the recent earthquake.
