MANILA, Philippines - House Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez told GMA News on Sunday night that Vice President Leni Robredo was fired from Cabinet post.
In a text message, Alvarez said: "Considering the situation, I think she is FIRED."
The statement came after Robredo announced earlier her resignation from the Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council (HUDCC) effective Monday, December 5.
"We received a text message last Saturday from Cabinet Secretary Jun Evasco, Jr., relaying the President’s instruction through Bong Go for me to desist from attending all Cabinet meetings starting this Monday, December 5,” Robredo shared.

Meanwhile, Liberal Party spokesperson Barry Gutierrez on Sunday showed the text message Cabinet Secretary Evasco sent to Robredo.
"Gd afternoon Madam Vice President. Mayor Rody Duterte thru Bong Go asked me to relay to you his instruction for you to desist from attending all Cabinet mtngs starting This Monday Dec 5, 2 pm. Ty," the SMS read.
