MANILA, Philippines - The Civil Service Commission (CSC) on Friday, November 4, announced the schedule of the nationwide conduct of Career Service Examination, Paper and Pencil Test (CSE-PPT) for Professional and SubProfessional Levels for 2017.
The CSC will administer the CSE-PPT on March 12 and August 16. The application period will run from November 14, 2016 to January 13, 2016 (first exam) and April 3 to June 2, 2016 (second exam).
The CSE-PPT are open to Filipino citizens, of good moral character, regardless of educational attainment, who are at least 18 years old at the time of filing of application, and have not taken the same level of examination in less than three months.
Passing the examination will result in the conferment of their professional or subprofessional eligibility appropriate for appointment to corresponding permanent positions in the government.
For the CSE-PPT scheduled on March 12, 2017, applicants must not take the same level of the examination from December 12, 2016 to March 11, 2017.
Meanwhile, exam for August 6, 2017 has a prohibition period from May 6, 2017 to August 5, 2017.
Note: Acceptance of applications shall be on a FIRST-COME, FIRST-SERVED basis and shall be closed any time before the deadline if the CSC Regional/Field Office has already reached the target number of applicants.
The application form is available at any CSC Regional/Field Office, or may be downloaded from the CSC website: www.csc.gov.ph. The application form may be photocopied using legal size bond paper.
Applicants must personally file their applications at the CSC Regional Office (CSCRO), or at any of the CSCRO’s Field Offices, where they intend to take the examination.
Note: Proper attire should be worn during filing of application. SLEEVELESS SHIRT/BLOUSE, SHORT PANTS, and SLIPPERS are NOT allowed.
The examination for professional level is composed of vocabulary, grammar and correct usage, paragraph organization, reading comprehension, analogy, logic, numerical reasoning (English and Filipino) and general information (Philippine Constitution), Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees (R.A. 6713), Peace and Human Rights Issues and Concepts and Environment Management and Protection.
For sub-professional level, coverage is same but the analogy, logic were replaced by spelling and clerical operations.
According to CSC, an examinee should get a general rating of at least 80.00 to pass the test. The list of passers shall be uploaded on the CSC website www.csc.gov.ph within 41 days after the examination.
