The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) and the Board for Professional Teachers (BPT) announced on Thursday, May 19, that 12,128 elementary teachers out of 42,739 examinees (28.38%) and 18,810 secondary teachers out of 53,090 examinees (35.43%) successfully passed the Licensure Examination for Teachers (L.E.T.) given last March 20, 2016 in twenty testing centers all over the Philippines.
It is further announced that of the 12,128 elementary teacher passers, 3,906 are first timers and 8,222 are repeaters. For the secondary teachers, 10,747 passers are first timers and 8,063 are repeaters.

University of the Philippines (UP)-Diliman topped the schools for Secondary level as per Commission Resolution No. 2010-547 series of 2010 (with 50 or more examinees and with at least 80% passing percentage. UPD got 93.44% or 57 out of 61 passed the exam. Saint Louis University (SLU) ranked second with 92.18% (165 out of 179 passed the tests).
According to PRC, none of the schools was qualified as top performing in the March 2016 Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) - Elementary.
