MANILA, Philippines - Local government units (LGUs) announced class suspensions for tomorrow, Wednesday, December 16, 2015 due to the inclement weather brought by Typhoon Nona in some areas of Metro Manila and Luzon.
'Bagyong Nona' already made five landfall in Southern Luzon prompting some LGUs to suspend classes as there are anticipated heavy rains and flooding.

According to state weather bureau PAGASA, Typhoon Nona has slowed down as it crosses Northern Mindoro Tuesday afternoon. Storm Signal No. 3 (121-170 kph expected in 18hrs.) was raised over Oriental Mindoro and Occidental Mindoro including Lubang Island.
Signal No. 2 (61-120kph expected in 24 hrs.) is up in the following areas: Batangas, Cavite, Marinduque, Romblon and Calamian group of Islands.
Signal No. 1 (30-60kph expected in 36 hrs.) was raised on these areas: Metro Manila, Bataan, Southern Zambales, Bulacan, Laguna, Rizal, Quezon and Northern Palawan including Cuyo Island and Antique.
Nona is expected to traverse the West Philippine Sea tonight. Meanwhile, as of 2:00 PM, the Low Pressure Area (LPA) outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) was estimated at 1645 km East Southeast of Mindanao (5.8°N, 141.0°E).
