Manila - Weather forecast for Holy Week (April 14-20, 2014) has been released by state bureau PAGASA on Monday.
PAGASA said that the Low Pressure Area (LPA) estimated at 125 km Southeast of Guiuan, Eastern Samar will bring moderate to occasionally heavy rains and thunderstorms which may trigger flashfloods and landslides over Eastern Visayas. While, Bicol Region, MIMAROPA, rest of Visayas and Northern Mindanao will have cloudy skies with scattered light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms. Metro Manila and the rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms mostly in the afternoon or evening.
By Tuesday and Wednesday (April 15- 16, 2014), Visayas will experience cloudy skies with moderate to occasionally heavy rains and thunderstorms, while Bicol Region, Southern Quezon and MIMAROPA will have scattered light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms as the LPA is expected to cross the visayas area. The rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms mostly in the afternoon or evening.
The LPA which is expected to have already crossed the landmass of Visayas, will be in the vicinity of Palawan by Maundy Thursday (April 17, 2014). Gradual improvement of the weather is expected over Eastern and Central Visayas. However, Western Visayas, Northern Mindanao, MIMAROPA, CALABARZON, Central Luzon, Aurora, Quezon and Metro Manila will be cloudy with scattered light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms. The rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.
Throughout the rest of the outlook period (April 18-20, 2014), Palawan will continue to experience cloudy skies with scattered light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms. While, the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies mostly in the afternoon or evening with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms. The aforementioned LPA is expected to dissipate after crossing the Palawan area. However, the general public is still advised to monitor for the weather advisories and daily weather forecast being issued by PAGASA.
"This outlook will be updated as soon as significant changes in the weather pattern occurs," PAGASA said.
