Cheridel Alejandrino, the elevator girl on a viral video whose cheerful demeanor recently made rounds online took spotlight on ABS-CBN's weekly musical variety show ASAP18 today.
In a special segment of With Love Gary V., an endearing story of the current Youtube sensation " the funny elevator girl" was honored. Gary serenaded her with his original song "As You Are".
The video of SM Olongapo elevator attendant which is viral now on social media was uploaded on Youtube by Josh Magpale last July 26.
A comment on the video by Kaye Mercado says: "I admire the fact that you make people happy with your job, the fact that you love your job and being enthusiastic, polite, have a great sense of humor and a real human being. It is rare for people and worker like I am proud of you ma'am, you deserve a recognition and promotion on your job more power! And to the person who uploaded this, you are awesome I congratulate you for noticing such an entertaining and dedicated person to her job. "
Aside from being an instant star on social media, Cheri also reached global media. International news outfit Al Jazeera praised her for "[providing] customers with uplifting experiences."
She was also invited by the different news organizations in the country for an interview.
In an interview with GMA's Kape at Balita, Cheri said: “Sa lahat pong katulad ko na nagtatrabaho, huwag niyo pong ikahiya ano man po yung trabaho niyo ngayon at dapat po pagbutihin niyo po para katulad ko po na mapansin din kayo."
Reports say that Cheri has been transferred to SM Mall of Asia to see how she fares with customers there.
