Forbes Magazine released the 2012 top 40 richest Filipino individual or business tycoons in the Philippines. Henry Sy is still the undisputed highest in terms of shares and other financial records with $9.1 Billion. MVP is still not included in the list although he already acquired majority of telecommunications and businesses in the country.
The list was compiled using shareholding information and financial data obtained from the Philippine Securities and Exchange Commission, the Philippine Stock Exchange, analysts or the companies themselves. Privately held companies were valued based on comparisons to prevailing price-to-earnings or price-to-sales ratios for similar publicly traded companies. Net worths were calculated using stock prices and exchange rates.
